Deelnemen aan onze samenleving dankzij inburgering
De Vlaamse overheid wil dat mensen die vanuit het buitenland in Vlaanderen en Brussel komen wonen, actief kunnen deelnemen aan onze samenleving. Daarom biedt de Vlaamse overheid een inburgeringstraject aan, dat inburgeraars moet helpen om de nodige kennis en vaardigheden te ontwikkelen. Inburgering biedt hen een eerste opstap om hun maatschappelijke rol als burger, ouder, werknemer, ondernemer ... volop te kunnen opnemen.
Waaruit bestaat inburgering?
- Een cursus maatschappelijke oriëntatie over leven, werken, normen en waarden in België (in een taal die de cursist begrijpt);
- Nederlandse taallessen;
- individuele begeleiding in de zoektocht naar werk, studies … en hulp bij diplomawaardering.

In de cursus maatschappelijke oriëntatie komen zowel algemene als praktische doelstellingen binnen elf thema’s aan bod: mobiliteit, België en mijn stad/gemeente, publieke diensten, onderwijs, gezin, gezondheidszorg, wonen, werken, vrije tijd, verblijfsituatie en consumptie. Doorheen de thema’s leert de cursist om zelfstandig de weg te vinden, informatiekanalen gebruiken en oplossingen zoeken voor moeilijke situaties.
Gedifferentieerd aanbod
Leraren begeleiden de lessen in een taal die de cursist vloeiend beheerst. De lessen vertrekken vanuit de ervaringen van de cursisten en stimuleren coöperatief leren. Cursisten worden geëvalueerd op basis van de doelstellingen en hun actieve deelname aan de lessen en opdrachten. Het aanbod wordt gedifferentieerd naar het profiel van de cursisten en werkvorm: fysieke lessen, blended cursussen, online cursussen en zelfstudie.
