Behavior coach: Strong guidance for difficult behavior

Difficult behavior occurs in all schools. A child who exhibits difficult behavior cannot tackle this alone.

During this intensive training, you will gain insight into what difficult behavior is and how to deal with it.

Through this five-day program you will practice your skills in guiding students with difficult behavior and you will receive tools to support your colleagues.

You will learn the different steps that help you to strengthen the school policy on behavior and the school team.
You discover useful methodologies and apply them at student, teacher and school level.

During the course of the process you will also put together a handy toolbox.

Program

Day 1: Difficult behavior?!

• What is difficult behavior for me?
• What happens in the children's minds when they get angry?
• What impact does difficult child behavior have on me?

Day 2: What works (not)?

• How do I become stronger as a teacher in dealing with difficult behavior?
• Focus on teacher, teacher tools and self-control.

Day 3: What does this child have to learn?

• social and emotional development;
• punishment, reward and recovery.

Day 4: Talking to children

• discover tools to talk to children in a connecting way;
• converting problem behavior into a skill to be learned;
• working out a case in group.

Day 5: Growing together

• focusing on a preventive school approach;
• How can we strengthen our school policy (behavior) with the entire team?
• self-care.

During this training:

• you become more skilled in guiding students with difficult behavior;
• you become more skilled at supporting/​coaching and strengthening your colleagues in dealing with difficult behavior;
• you will learn different steps to strengthen school policy on behavior.
