Ik was verrast dat Zoom zo gehypet werd bij de start van de lockdown. In de Engelstalige media waren toen al bijdragen die ervoor waarschuwden dat dit platform onvoldoende veilig was. Ik heb het op onze school meteen afgeraden.

Ondertussen probeert het bedrijf wel zijn reputatie op te krikken en hebben ze een Data Protection Officer aangesteld en streven ze naar GDPR compliance voor gebruik in de EU. Zo staat het toch op hun gdpr-pagina: https://zoom.us/gdpr.

Zuinig omgaan met de tool is wellicht voorlopig nog altijd de boodschap.
