Maak werk van een goed privacybeleid in je school
In ons onderwijs is het van groot belang dat je de privacy van betrokkenen respecteert en de bestaande regels daaromtrent correct toepast. Er zijn verschillende informatiebronnen waarin persoonsgegevens verwerkt worden. Bijvoorbeeld: alle documenten voor personeelsadministratie, het leerlingvolgsysteem, de agenda’s van de kinderen, rapporten, het inlichtingenblad bij de inschrijving, aanwezigheidslijst van de schoolbus ...
Sinds 2018 is de privacywetgeving verstrengd. GDPR? Dat staat voor General Data Protection Regulation. Deze Algemene Verordening Gegevensbescherming (AVG) is een Europese verordening die nieuwe eisen stelt aan bedrijven, organisaties én scholen.
Op school veilig omgaan met persoonsgegevens
Scholen moeten duidelijke procedures hebben over wat ze met al die gegevens doen, met wie ze die delen, hoelang ze de gegevens bewaren, wat er moet gebeuren bij een datalek ... De verschillende scholenkoepels ondersteunen de scholen bij het uitwerken van die procedures. Belangrijk: het veilig omgaan met persoonsgegevens in het onderwijs is een taak voor ieder personeelslid van de school.
Opgepast voor valkuilen
Zonder het te beseffen, deel je vaak gegevens over jezelf. Met één klik aanvaard je bijvoorbeeld cookies op een website. Tegenwoordig kan je even gemakkelijk je toestemming weer intrekken en ze niet aanvaarden.
Klasfoto op Facebook: heb je toestemming van ouders nodig?
Deel je soms foto’s van je klas op je Facebookprofiel? Daar heb je toestemming voor nodig van je leerlingen. De privacywet zegt dat iedereen vanaf 13 jaar zelf moet kunnen beslissen over wat er met zijn gegevens gebeurt. Jonger? Dan moeten de ouders je toestemming geven.
