The story of the Mere: The beginning of probability theory


This video explains the problem of the Mere from, namely the difference between the probability of at least one six in four throws of a die and the probability of at least one double six in 24 throws of two dice.

In the beginning, the historical context sketched a little at the end there is some advertising for applications of probability theory made more serious science.

The target audience are students of the fifth or sixth form you want to motivate probability theory or students who have already had combinatorics and probability theory, and to learn a little history about this on the basis of the first practical example.
