Onthaalklassen
De doelstellingen van het onthaalonderwijs zijn:
- Nederlands leren aan anderstalige nieuwkomers;
- hen integreren in de klaspraktijk en in de samenleving;
- in het secundair onderwijs: hen voorbereiden op verdere studies in het secundair onderwijs of op andere opleidingen of vormingen;
- in het deeltijds beroepssecundair onderwijs: hen voorbereiden op een opleiding leren en werken.
Het onthaalonderwijs in het basisonderwijs omvat 1 of 2 onthaaljaren en eventueel een vervolgjaar (voor ‘gewezen anderstalige nieuwkomers’).
