Starch: Webquest

This contribution is a competency-based assignment that was drawn up by The world at your feet! The assignment challenges students to apply their knowledge of sciences and economics, among other things. To do this, they complete a webquest about starch.

They are expected to set up a research group within a company specialized in grain products. As a research group, they are compiling a knowledge dossier on starch and its (commercial) use.

To achieve this, they form a multidisciplinary team, in which each member has his own specialty.

This team pursues the following additional objectives:

• learn to work against time pressure and learn to deal with this as a team;
• learn to divide tasks and support each other in this;
• learn to test one's own work within the team;
• learn to take initiative;
• learning to process information efficiently, which is filtered from an oversupply;
• learn to devise and implement a strategy;
• learn to present a concept.
