A Boolean ones and zeros - Explobots

In A Boolean Ones and Zeros, students are introduced to Boolean algebra and how it can be usefully applied in electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
They learn to construct truth tables for NO switches, NC switches and series and parallel circuits which they can then later compare with the truth tables of the electronic logic gates where they learn to discover how they work in a number of research assignments. The same comparison is also made with NG and NO valves and OR and AND valves in pneumatics.
Throughout the project, the students get to know different sensors and actuators and also learn how to use them in a variety of situations by designing and making circuits. In addition, they are briefly introduced to pneumatic components.
The professions of electronics fitter, PCB designer and pneumatics fitter are covered in this project.
